Governance
The National Institute for Health and Care Research Greater Manchester Patient Safety Research Collaboration (NIHR GM PSRC) is part of the NIHR and hosted by Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) in partnership with the Universities of Manchester, Nottingham and Leicester. The NIHR GM PSRC is also a member of SafetyNet (PSRC Network).
There are several governance boards in place to help us meet our objectives.
Governance Board
The GM PSRC Governance Board meets three times a year to help us work effectively with stakeholders and ensure our research has the maximum impact on patient safety.
It also helps leadership to follow the overall strategy and monitors the GM PSRC within NCA’s Trust-Wide Risk Management Strategy.

- promote supportive strategies across each part of the infrastructure;
- avoid duplication of effort and maximise outputs;
- coordinate major infrastructure bids across partners.
