NIHR PSRC Economics of Safety Network Launch Meeting
In January 2024, the NIHR Greater Manchester PSRC will host a hybrid meeting to launch a working group on Economics of Safety. The NIHR PSRC Economics of Safety Network will aim to facilitate cross-collaboration, idea sharing, and research dissemination across all PSRCs. With a focus on health economics work related to patient safety, the network will also serve as a forum for junior researchers and PhD students to present their work and receive valuable feedback. Researchers who wish to incorporate health economics into their work themes are more than welcome to join the group.
The launch meeting will be held at the University of Manchester, from 9:30am to 3pm, and online via Zoom from 10am-3pm. During the day, the group will discuss the current scenario of the economics of safety research, as well as hold a series of discussion groups. There is no cost for registration, and lunch will be provided, but we are unable to fund travel related expenses. You can find the day’s agenda below.
The NIHR PSRC Economic of Safety Network is keen to draw on previous experience from the PSTRCs and further enhance the application of health economic methods in the next generation of PSRCs. It is our aim to present a cohesive strategy and profile across all PSRCs, ensuring that economic methods are effectively utilised throughout our collective research. Therefore, we hope to have representatives from all PSRCs, so that we can identify all safety economics research activities.
